Most visitors spend $95 to $140 (£75 to £110) per person per day at Universal Orlando in 2026. This includes:
- A quick-service meal for lunch
- A table-service meal at CityWalk for dinner
- A few snacks & drinks
- A small merchandise purchase
However, you can spend less. When I first started visiting Universal Orlando, I was much younger and had a very strict budget so I know that $40 to $60 (£30 to £45) is possible. Equally so too is $200 (£160) once you add an Express Pass or bigger merchandise purchases like an interactive wand or Power-Up Band.
How Much Spending Money You Need at Universal Orlando
Your daily spending money at Universal Studios breaks down into three rough tiers depending on how you like to do a theme park day:
Light spender: $40-$60 (£30-£45)
You can visit Universal Orlando on a budget with spending money of between $40 and $60 per person per day. However, this requires a little more preparation prior to your trip.

First, you’ll want to eat breakfast at your hotel or villa to minimise the amount of food you’re buying at the theme park. Then bring a water bottle which you can refill with water for free at any water bottle filling station or quick-service counter.

$40 to $60 allows for a snack or a quick-service dinner. However, with this budget, though, you’ll have to skip the table-service restaurants at CityWalk and most of the souvenirs.

Moderate spender: $95-$140 (£75-£110)
Most first-time visitors spend between $95 and $140 per person per day at Universal Orlando. This stops you worrying about or tracking money quite as much on your visit and instead lets you enjoy your trip without compromises.

This budget includes a quick-service lunch in the parks ($14-18), a couple of snacks, a refillable drink or a Butterbeer plus a sit-down dinner at CityWalk. You can also afford small merchandise purchases on this budget with items such as a lanyard, pin, or keyring.

Bigger purchases such as an interactive wand or Power-Up Band will likely push you to the higher-end of this bracket. Alternatively, you can buy them online second-hand in advance to save money.

Heavy spender: $200+ (£160+)
You can easily spend $200 or more per person per day at Universal Orlando, especially if you’re visiting for a special occasion or on a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Your days at Universal Orlando with this sort of budget will likely include buying an Express Pass if you’re not already staying at one of the deluxe on-site hotels where an Express Pass is included. This may also include premium seating or a cabana for your day at Volcano Bay.

Lunch will still likely be quick-service given the limited table-service options inside the theme parks, but the snacks and table-service dinner at CityWalk might include alcohol. Souvenir purchases can include a Harry Potter robe, an interactive wand ($69) or Power-Up Band ($55+).

Food and Drink Costs at Universal Orlando
The cost of food and drink is the biggest variable at Universal Orlando. Here’s some prices of the basic items:
- Quick-service meal (entrée only): $14-18 (£11-14.20)
- Quick-service combo (entrée plus side plus drink): $20-22 (£16-17)
- Sit-down meal in the theme parks: $30-50 (£24-39) per person before tip
- Sit-down meal at CityWalk: $40-55 (£31-43) per person before tip
- Butterbeer: $7.99 (£6.30) regular, $8.99 (£7.10) frozen at Hogsmeade
- Coca-Cola Freestyle refillable cup (one-day unlimited): $19.99 (£15.75)
- Snacks (pretzels, churros, ice cream): $7-8 (£5.50-6.30)

At $19.99 the Coca-Cola Freestyle cup pays for itself if you’ll drink 4+ fountain sodas in a day, which is easy in Florida heat. If you’re at the parks for two days or more, you can reactivate the cup for $11.99.
Souvenirs and Merchandise at Universal Orlando
Souvenirs are where spending varies wildest. You can leave Universal Studios with a $5 keyring or a $300+ Bowtruckle plushie. Here’s what the popular items actually cost as of June 2026:
- Interactive wand (Ollivanders, all three Wizarding World lands): $69 (£54)
- Non-interactive wand: $55 (£43)
- Souvenir Butterbeer mug or stein: $15-22 (£12-17)
- Light-up Mead Hall mug at Epic Universe: $35 (£28)
- Hogwarts House scarf or robe: $45-110 (£35-87)
- T-shirt: $30-40 (£24-31)
- Plush character toy (small to medium): $25-50 (£20-39)
- Keyring, pin, magnet: $5-15 (£4-12)
- Universal-branded ear band or similar headband: $25-35 (£20-28)

The most popular big-ticket souvenir is the interactive wand. Each costs $69 and works at every wand-interaction location across Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, and the new Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe.
Extras to Budget For at Universal Orlando
Beyond food and souvenirs, there are several day-of extras that can quietly add $50-150 per person per day if you’re not expecting them:
- Express Pass: $89-180+ per person per day depending on date.
- Parking: Standard $30, Prime $50, Valet $80.
- Lockers: Free for the first 90 minutes; rentals beyond that are $4-12. Family-size all-day lockers are $15-20.
- Volcano Bay Extras: Towel rental $7 (£5.50) before tax, all-day lockers $20-30, cabanas $200-450 per day.
- Photo Packages: My Universal Photos one-day digital pack $99, three-day $130.
- Tips: 18-20% on table-service bills is standard in the US.

The biggest of these is the Express Pass. On a peak summer day at Universal Studios Florida it can run $180+ per person. For most first-timers I’d skip Express Pass on lower-crowd days and reserve it for the day you’re tackling Epic Universe.
