Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood – The Ultimate Guide
Super Nintendo World is the newest land to open at Universal Studios Hollywood. This theme park area, which focuses on the Super Mario franchise, debuted in January 2023.
Even if you’re not a huge fan of Super Nintendo, I highly recommend visiting this area of the theme park. The immersiveness and attention to detail are incredible, and the technology used in the rides and attractions is amazing.
Location
Super Nintendo World is the furthest point from the Universal Studios Hollywood entrance.

Sadly, there’s no shortcut. Instead, you must walk through Universal Studios Hollywood to get to the Super Nintendo World area of the park.
Walking from the entrance to Universal Studios Hollywood to Super Nintendo World takes about 10 minutes when done at pace. But how do you get there?
- Enter the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park at the main entrance.
- Walk past Starbucks on your left and the Hello Kitty Store on your right.
- Continue past the entrance to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
- Follow the path round to the right into Springfield.
- Keep walking straight towards The Simpsons Ride.
- Just before you get to The Simpsons Ride, turn left.
- Take the escalators down to the Lower Lot.
- Once you get to the Lower Lot, turn right.
- Head towards The Transformers Ride.
- Walk past Panda Express on your left.
- Turn left at The Transformers Ride.
- Enter the warp pipe portal into Super Nintendo World.
Pro Tip: Entry into Super Nintendo World is included with the cost of your admission into Universal Studios Hollywood.

Rides & Attractions
Super Nintendo World is home to some of the best things to do at Universal Studios Hollywood, including:
- 1 Ride
- 2 Meet & Greet Locations
- 1 Store
- 1 Restaurant
- 5 Mini-Games (Super Nintendo World PowerUp Band required)
If everything was ‘walk on’, it would take about 2 hours to do everything inside Super Nintendo World, including dining at Toadstool Cafe.

However, with this being a new land, long wait times are not uncommon. Of course, wait times will fluctuate based on the date and time of your visit.
As a rough guide, you’re looking at:
- Mario Kart: Bowsers Challenge: 60 – 180 mins
- Toadstool Cafe: 60 – 120 mins
- Mini Games: 5 – 40 mins (4 available)
- Bowsers Challenge (Final Mini Game): 20 – 60 mins
- Character Meet & Greet: 45 – 120 mins (2 locations, 3 characters)
As a result, it will likely take between 4 and 7 hours to do everything in Super Nintendo World, with an estimated 50% to 70% of your time spent waiting in line.

Pro Tip: Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge is the best ride at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Sadly, the Express Pass is currently not eligible for rides within Super Nintendo World. Instead, the only way to reduce your wait time would be on a VIP Tour. However, a VIP Tour is a guided tour, and it doesn’t mean you would do everything in Super Nintendo World.
Food & Drink
There is one restaurant inside Super Nintendo World, Toadstool Cafe. Entry into Toadstool Cafe uses a virtual line, which you apply for in person at the restaurant entrance.

Once you get a text message saying your reservation is ready, you can proceed to the restaurant. This restaurant is quick service in the sense that you order at the counter. However, it’s also table service in the sense that the food is brought to your table.

The menu at Toadstool Cafe is American Italian. The wide range of foods available should cater to all dietary needs and interests. Plus, the food tastes incredible—I’d go as far as to say it’s the best food inside Universal Studios Hollywood.

Pro Tip: You can also find selected Super Nintendo World snacks and drinks just outside the land across from The Mummy Ride.

Merchandise
All merchandise sold inside Super Nintendo World is based on the Mario franchise. Sadly, no other Nintendo-associated merchandise is sold, including Zelda or Pokemon.
You’ll find the best Super Nintendo World merchandise selection in the 1-Up Store. This store is located on the right-hand side of the land and is also the exit to Mario Kart: Bowsers Challenge.

The Universal Store at the park entrance also offers a large selection of Super Nintendo World merchandise. This is ideal if you want to pick up Universal Studios souvenirs as you exit the theme park.
