How Big Is Universal Studios Hollywood?
Universal Studios Hollywood is about 415 acres in size. However, before you panic and wonder how you’ll ever cover that in a single day, keep in mind that includes:
- Universal Studios Hollywood
- Studio Lot
- CityWalk
- Parking Garages
Universal Studios Hollywood’s backlot filming studios cover roughly 400 acres. This includes more than 30 sound stages, the Brokaw News Center, and 165 other structures.
This backlot area is only accessible during the World Famous Studio Tour unless you’re part of a filming crew or Universal Studios staff.
The World Famous Studio Tour departs from Universal Studios Hollywood theme park and is one of the park’s biggest attractions. This 45 to 60-minute guided tram tour takes you behind the scenes of one of the oldest film studios in the world.
With roughly 400 of the estimated 415 acres taken up by the backlot area, only 15 acres remain. These estimated 15 acres cover the Universal theme park and CityWalk, both of which can typically be experienced in full in just one day.
