Parking at Universal Studios Hollywood (2024 Guide)
There are four different parking options available at Universal Studios Hollywood:
- General Parking: $35
- Preferred Parking: $50
- Front Gate Parking: $70
- Valet Parking: Prices vary, see below
After 5pm, General Parking is reduced to $10 and Preferred Parking is reduced to $20.
Given the dramatic difference in price it’s worth researching each parking option. That way you can easily navigate to the correct parking lot upon arrival at Universal.
General Parking
General Parking at Universal Studios Hollywood costs $35 before 5pm and $10 after 5pm. This is the cheapest parking option available at the theme park and covers two parking lots:
- E.T. Garage: 20 minutes walk from the theme park entrance
- Curious George Garage: 15 minutes walk from the theme park entrance
- Jurassic Parking Garage: 15 minutes walk from the theme park entrance
If you visit the cinema at Universal CityWalk to see a movie then you can park in a general parking garage for $5. To claim this offer simply present your parking receipt at the cinema ticket desk.
Electric vehicle charging is available in both General Parking garages:
- ET Garage: 16 ports on Level B1
- Curious George Garage: 2 ports on Level 1
- Jurassic Parking Garage: 8 ports on Level 1 and B1M
The current charging rate is $0.40/kWh and is subject to change without notice.
Preferred Parking
Preferred Parking at Universal Studios Hollywood costs $50 before 5pm and $20 after 5pm. Preferred Parking covers just two parking garage:
- Frankenstein Garage: 5 minutes walk from the theme park entrance
- Woody Woodpecker Lot: 5 minutes walk from the theme park entrance
The Frankenstein Garage is also where Uber and Lyft pick-up and drop-off is located. Electric vehicle charging is available in both of the Preferred Parking garages:
- Frankenstein Garage: 4 ports on Level 2 and Level 7
- Woody Woodpecker Lot: 1 port near Front Gate Parking
Again, the current charging rate is $0.40/kWh and is subject to change without notice.
Front Gate Parking
Front Gate Parking at Universal Studios Hollywood costs $70. This is the closest parking location to the theme park entrance.
There is no parking lot for Front Gate Parking. Instead it’s an open air parking lot across from the security checkpoint.
As a result, Front Gate Parking spaces are limited and fill up quickly during busier times of the year. There is also no EV charging at Front Gate Parking.
Valet Parking
Valet Parking at Universal Studios Hollywood costs between $10 and $60. There is one parking garage for Valet Parking:
- Jurassic Parking Garage: 15 minutes walk from the theme park entrance
This parking lot is also used for General Parking and has 8 electric vehicle charge ports on Level 1 and B1M.
Valet Parking standard rates are:
- $25 for First 2 Hours
- $60 after 2 Hours
However, Valet Parking with validation from a CityWalk full service restaurant is:
- $10 for 0 – 2.5 Hours
- $15 for 2.5 – 3.5 Hours
- $60 after 3.5 Hours

Annual Passholder Parking
Gold & Platinum Universal Hollywood Annual Passholders benefit from free General Parking until 6pm.
As such it’s often worth upgrading a Silver Annual Pass to a Gold Annual Pass. The price difference is $90 and you’ll get the added benefit of free General Parking worth $35 each time you visit.
Disabled Parking
Universal Studios Hollywood has accessible parking spaces for vehicles with disability placards. In this case you’ll be charged for General Parking ($35) and be able to park in either:
- Front Gate Parking: Across from the theme park entrance
- Frankenstein Garage: 5 minutes walk from the theme park entrance
RV Parking
Overnight parking at Universal Studios Hollywood is not permitted. However, if you can drive your RV to Universal Studios Hollywood.
The only place you can park your RV at Universal Hollywood is at Front Gate as this is the only open air parking lot.
