Harry Potter Robes at Universal Orlando (2026 Prices & Options)

There are three different types of Harry Potter costume robe available to purchase at Universal Orlando, all in the four different Hogwarts house colours:

1. Classic Hogwarts House Robe: $139 (for both adult and youth sizes)
2. Vintage 1920s Paris Robe: $149 (for both adult and youth sizes)
3. Harry Potter Robe Pullover: $80 (adult, all four houses)

All prices exclude the 6.5% Florida sales tax.

We bought a Hogwarts Robe on our trip to Universal Orlando in 2022 and have taken it with us on numerous trips since.

The Classic Hogwarts House Robes

The classic Hogwarts house robe has been a flagship product since the first Wizarding World of Harry Potter area opened at Islands of Adventure in 2010.

Each robe is a full-length open-front design in black with the house crest embroidered on the left chest and coloured trim on the hood and cuffs. All four Hogwarts houses are available:

• Gryffindor: scarlet and gold trim
• Slytherin: emerald green and silver trim
• Ravenclaw: blue trim
• Hufflepuff: yellow and black trim

Every classic house robe has a secret inner wand pocket stitched into the lining, sized to hold both the standard Ollivander character wands and the Interactive Wands. Universal’s Utility Belt Wand Holder is sold separately for guests who want to carry their wand without wearing a robe.

Where to Buy the Classic Hogwarts Robe

The classic Harry Potter robe is sold at Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk and online at shopuniversal.com.

Universal Studios Florida (Diagon Alley)

• Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions is the primary robe shop at Universal Orlando. All classic house robes are here and it has the widest selection of sizes. The animatronic talking mirror at the back is worth the walk-in even if you’re not buying.
• Quality Quidditch Supplies carries Quidditch-style team merchandise and some house robes.

Islands of Adventure (Hogsmeade)

• Dervish and Banges is the primary robe shop on the Hogsmeade side. All four house robes in adult and youth sizes are stocked here.
• Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods is the exit shop for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. It carries house scarves, hats, and some apparel, with a smaller robe selection.

CityWalk

• Universal Studios Store carries a broad Wizarding World merchandise selection including classic Hogwarts house robes. It’s a convenient stop before you enter the theme parks or after you leave.

Online

The classic Hogwarts house robes are also available online at shop.universalorlando.com at the same $139 price.

Sizing and Materials

Classic Hogwarts house robes are 100% polyester, dry-clean only and come in two size formats:

1. Adult
2. Youth

The adult classic robes run XS through XXL as unisex sizing. The XS is genuinely small, closer to a UK size 6 to 8 (US 2 to 4). The XXL is generous. Universal’s own product pages list the following measurements.

• XS to SM: 52.5 to 53.5 inch length, 16.5 to 17.25 inch shoulder
• MD to LG: 54.5 to 55.25 inch length, 19.5 to 21 inch shoulder
• XL to XXL: 56 to 56.75 inch length, 22.25 to 24.25 inch shoulder

The youth classic robes run true-to-size with generous room. Universal doesn’t publish youth measurements on the product page, so if you’re buying online for a taller child, aim up one size.

Wearing Your Robe on Rides and in Florida Heat

You are welcome to wear your robe anywhere within the Universal Orlando Resort. However, given its size, you’ll be asked to remove it and potentially store it on some rides.

Florida’s summer heat and humidity make wearing the robe for more than an hour difficult. I’ve visited with a Hogwarts robe three times now and on most occasions, I try to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter first to take photos. Not only is it cooler in the morning, but it’s also quieter, so you get much better photos.

Hogwarts Robe Alternatives

There are several alternatives to expand your wizarding wardrobe beyond the classic Hogwarts robe at Universal Orlando:

Vintage 1920s Paris Robes: These wizarding robes are exclusively available inside Les Galeries Mirifiques at the Ministry of Magic, Epic Universe. They are styled after the Fantastic Beasts-era 1920s Paris, tied to the Place Cachée setting and come in all four houses in both adult and youth sizes, at $149 each.

Character Costume Robes: Madam Malkin’s in Diagon Alley also sells replica character costumes: Professor Snape’s robes, Albus Dumbledore’s robes, and Hermione Granger’s Yule Ball gown. Hermione’s gown is available online but the others are exclusive to the resort.

Hogwarts House Hoodie: Universal added a casual pullover-style alternative to the full-length classic robe in March 2026. These Harry Potter Robe Pullovers cost $80 each and are available in all four houses with adult sizing from XS to XXL.
