Universal Studios Florida
Universal Studios Florida currently has 14 rides and attractions to choose from:
Harry Potter And The Escape From Gringotts
๐ Height Requirement: 42โ (107 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 48 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts is a dark ride inside the famous bank in Diagon Alley. This 3D simulator rollercoaster takes you through the vaults, where you’ll face trolls, dragons, and Voldemort.

Each vehicle seats 12 people with a lap bar for safety. The ride isn’t too intense; it moves relatively slowly and doesn’t go upside down. However, sharp turns, small drops, and motion effects means this ride may cause motion sickness.

Although the height requirement is low, dark scenes and sudden movements may scare younger children. However, for Harry Potter fans, this is an unmissable experience.
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
๐ Height Requirement: 40โ (102 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 40 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
YoDespicable Me Minion Mayhem is a 3D motion simulator that takes you on a chaotic adventure with Gru and the Minions.
After a hilarious pre-show, you’ll grab some 3D glasses and sit in a cinema. These cinema seats tilt, bounce, and shake to match the action on screen.

The seats on this ride donโt move intensely and donโt require safety belts. However, those prone to motion sickness can opt for stationary seating at the front of the theatre.
This ride is excellent for families with its fun storyline and silly Minion antics. The height requirement is low, but some young children may still find the movement overwhelming.
Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast
๐ Height Requirement: None
โฐ Average Wait Time: 20 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
Illuminationโs Villain-Con Minion Blast is an interactive shooting game where you try to join the Vicious 6.
Instead of a traditional ride vehicle, you stand on a moving walkway and blast targets. Think The Amazing Spiderman Ride on a moving walkway rather than in a ride vehicle.
Armed with an E-Liminator X blaster, youโll shoot at screens as you glide through villain-themed scenes. Your score is tracked, so thereโs plenty of replay value for competitive guests.
This is great for families because there is no height requirement and no sudden movements. However, younger children may struggle with the blasterโs weight or aiming at targets.
Hogwarts Express: Kings Cross Station
๐ Height Requirement: None
โฐ Average Wait Time: 34 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
The Hogwarts Express is a train ride between Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. However, you can only ride this ride with a park-to-park theme park ticket.

Departing from Platform 9ยพ at Kings Cross Station, you’ll board the train and sit in a themed cabin. During the 8-minute ride, the window projection will mimic the journey and show familiar Harry Potter characters.

The Hogwarts Express is suitable for all ages and has no height requirement. You can also take wheelchairs and strollers on this ride too.
Revenge Of The Mummy
๐ Height Requirement: 48″ (122 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 27 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
Revenge of the Mummy is one of the most intense rides at Universal Orlando. This high-speed indoor rollercoaster has twists, turns, and sudden drops but does not go upside down.

Set in an ancient Egyptian tomb, youโll face mummies and other dark forces as you race through the dark on a high-speed track.
Each ride vehicle seats four people in a row, secured with a standard over-the-shoulder harness for safety.
E.T. Adventure
๐ Height Requirement: 34″ (86 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 23 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
E.T. Adventure is a charming, family-friendly ride that takes you on a bike to help E.T. return home. This slow-moving ride features gentle twists and turns as you soar through lush forests and starry skies.

The ride vehicles are designed to look like bicycles, seating up to two people, and have a lap bar for safety. The gentle motion makes this ride a great choice for smaller children and those looking for a calmer experience.
Opened in 1990, E.T. Adventure is Universal Studios Orlando’s oldest ride. Although the technology may feel a bit dated, it remains an iconic ride loved by long-time visitors.
Fast And Furious – Supercharged
๐ Height Requirement: 40โ (102 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 25 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
Fast & Furious โ Supercharged is an action-packed ride that puts you in the middle of a high-speed street race. The ride features motion simulation and exciting effects, including explosions and fast cars.

The ride vehicle seats up to 12 people, with three rows of 4 seats, and uses a lap bar for safety. While it feels like you’re moving at high speed, the ride vehicle remains stationary and only moves from side to side. All other movement is simulated.
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
๐ Height Requirement: 51″ (130 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 39 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is my favourite ride at Universal Orlando. Unfortunately, however, it is set to close and be demolished in September 2025.

The ride starts with a vertical climb to a height of 167 feet (51 meters), followed by a thrilling drop that reaches speeds of up to 65 mph (105 km/h). The coaster goes upside down and features a steep drop, along with an intense vertical lift.

Each ride vehicle seats one person per row, secured with a lap bar. Once seated, you can choose a song to be played through the sound system embedded in your seat creating a personalised ride experience.
Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl
๐ Height Requirement: None
โฐ Average Wait Time: 16 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl is a fun, family-friendly ride where you spin around with the mischievous aliens from The Simpsons.

The ride vehicle is a spaceship with up to four people in each pod. You can control your spaceship’s height and spinning speed by turning a wheel. This is great as the ride has no height requirement, but some younger children may find the spinning motion overwhelming.
Men In Black: Alien Attack
๐ Height Requirement: 42โ (107 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 22 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
Men in Black: Alien Attack is a fantastic, family-friendly ride. It is similar to Spiderman at Islands of Adventure in that you shoot targets. However, the track-based element of the ride is less intense.

The concept of the ride is that you’re fighting against alien invaders in the chaotic streets of New York. Each ride vehicle seats two people side by side and is equipped with a laser gun for each rider.

The cars move smoothly and slowly along the track. Meanwhile, your score is tracked throughout the ride, creating a competitive element.
Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon
๐ Height Requirement: 40โ (102 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 12 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
Race Through New York, Starring Jimmy Fallon, is a 3D motion simulator that takes you on a wild ride through New York City. Join Jimmy Fallon and his guests as you race through the city to get to his studio.

Each ride vehicle seats 10 people and is secured with a lap bar. While it may feel like you’re zooming at speed on this ride, the vehicle you’re in is fixed. Instead, everything is done using motion simulation, 3D visuals, and special effects.
If you’re a fan of Jimmy Fallon, then this ride is excellent, especially the memorabilia in the waiting room. However, I find this ride’s motion simulation very intense and the theming uninteresting, so I skip most visits.
The Simpsons Ride
๐ Height Requirement: 40โ (102 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 26 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
Let me preface this ride summary by saying that I love The Simpsons. It’s one of the iconic shows I grew up with in the late 90s and early 00s.
However, this ride is the worst ride at Universal Orlando. I do not typically suffer from motion sickness, but this ride triggers me significantly.

The ride takes place with cinema-style seating facing an 80-foot-wide domed screen. The cinema seats move to simulate motion, which is combined with 3D glasses and special effects.
The ride’s concept is a wild adventure through the Krustyland theme park, which includes sharp turns, drops, and dead-ends.
Transformers: The Ride-3D
๐ Height Requirement: 40โ (102 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 30 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
Much like The Simpsons, Transformers: The Ride-3D is a simulation ride I skip at Universal Orlando.
This ride is a 3D simulator ride in which you join the Autobots in a battle to save Earth from the Decepticons.

Each ride vehicle seats up to 12 people in three rows, secured with a lap bar. The ride uses 3D visuals and motion simulation to make you feel like you’re in the middle of the action.
Unlike other simulation rides at Universal Orlando, this vehicle moves through the building. As such, you’ll experience physical and simulated movements throughout.
Trolls Trollcoaster
๐ Height Requirement: 36″ (92 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 42 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
Trolls Trollcoaster is one of the newest rides at Universal Studios Florida. Situated inside DreamWorks Land, it has gentle twists, turns, and small drops.

Each ride vehicle seats two people side by side, with a lap bar for safety, making it a fantastic introductory rollercoaster for little kids.
Universalโs Islands of Adventure
Universal’s Islands of Adventure currently has 18 rides and attractions to choose from:
Jurassic World VelociCoaster
๐ Height Requirement: 51″ (130 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 49 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
Jurassic World VelociCoaster is one of the best rides at Universal Islands of Adventure. The ride reaches 70 mph (113 km/h) and features a massive 155-foot (47-meter) drop.

The ride has two seats per row, with the riders secured by over-the-shoulder harnesses. The coaster includes fast launches, sharp turns, and inversions for an intense ride experience.

Hagridโs Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure
๐ Height Requirement: 48″ (122 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 89 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
Hagridโs Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure has one of the longest wait times of any ride at Universal Orlando. This rollercoaster takes you through the Forbidden Forest. As you race through twists and turns, youโll see magical creatures like dragons and skrewts.

There are two seating options on this ride:
- Motorbike
- Sidecar
The motorbike seat is definitely more thrilling as it’s more exposed. Both seats have a lap bar for safety.

Hagridโs Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure has some sudden drops. But it doesn’t go upside down or have any inversions. If your kids are a Harry Potter fan, I’d try to encourage them to experience this ride, as it’s fantastic!

Jurassic Park River Adventure
๐ Height Requirement: 42โ (107 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 27 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
Jurassic Park River Adventure is one of the scariest rides at Universal Orlando.
The ride has five rows, each holding up to five guests. A lap bar is lowered across the entire row. This means smaller children might have more space between them and the lap bar, especially when riding with larger guests.

The concept of Jurassic Park River Adventure is that you’re going on a journey through calm waters to see the dinosaurs. However, the dinosaurs have escaped, leading to a thrilling chase and a dramatic 85-foot (26-meter) drop as you try to escape.

Aside from the 85-foot drop at the end, the ride itself moves at a slow pace. However, escaping from dinosaurs might be scary for younger children.
Harry Potter And The Forbidden Journey
๐ Height Requirement: 48″ (122 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 37 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
The Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is inside the iconic Hogwarts Castle. During this ride, you’ll join Harry, Hermione, and Ron, flying on broomsticks and meeting magical creatures.

Each guest sits in an individual seat secured with a harness and lap bar. The ride vehicle swings and tilts, simulating the feeling of flying. It may cause motion sickness for some guests. The ride does not require 3D glasses.
Given the seat format, some people with larger chests have been known to struggle to secure the harness. There is a test seat at the entrance of the ride for you to try before waiting in line.

This ride has dark scenes and fast movements, which might be too intense for younger children. The seat format also makes it hard to comfort any upset children during the ride.
However, if your little one is a fan of Harry Potter, it’s a fantastic ride to experience. As such, I’d suggest potentially sitting together in advance of your visit and watching the POV of the ride online to gauge their reaction.
Caro-Seuss-el
๐ Height Requirement: None
โฐ Average Wait Time: 7 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
If you’re visiting Universal Orlando with a baby then Caro-Seuss-el is a must. This whimsical carousel ride is located in Seuss Landing and features beloved characters from Dr. Seussโs books.

Guests ride on colourful, Seuss-inspired creatures instead of traditional horses. Meanwhile, each seat is secured with a standard lap bar.
Doctor Doom’s Fearfall
๐ Height Requirement: 52โ (132 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 15 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
Doctor Doom’s Fearfall is a pretty dated drop tower ride designed to simulate the feeling of free fall. The ride lifts you to 200 feet (61 meters) and then drops you at speeds up to 60 mph (97 km/h).

There are two towers, each with 16 seats, set in rows of four around the tower. The seats use an overhead chest bar for security. Again, these can be troublesome for those with larger chests, but a test seat is available at the ride entrance.
Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls
๐ Height Requirement: 44โ (112cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 28 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls is a water ride where you will get wet.
This log-flume ride takes you through thrilling twists and turns before plunging down a dramatic 75-foot (23-meter) drop. Each ride vehicle is a log-shaped boat that holds up to five people, one behind the other. Each person is secured using a lap bar.

Depending on the time of year, you may choose to dry naturally after this ride. Alternatively, there are some human driers at the exit, which cost $8.

Flight of the Hippogriff
๐ Height Requirement: 36″ (92 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 30 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
Flight of the Hippogriff is a fantastic introductory rollercoaster for young kids.

This rollercoaster offers a gentle ride through the grounds of Hogwarts. After soaring past Hagridโs hut, you will fly around the Hippogriffโs paddock before swooping down for a thrilling, yet mild, drop.

Each ride vehicle seats two people in a row, secured with a lap bar for safety. While this rollercoaster is not intense, the small drop and speed excite kids and those looking for a light thrill.
Hogwarts Express: Hogsmeade Station
๐ Height Requirement: None
โฐ Average Wait Time: 23 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
The Hogwarts Express is a train ride between Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. However, you can only ride this ride with a park-to-park theme park ticket.

Departing from Hogsmeade Station at Islands of Adventure, you’ll board the train and sit in a themed cabin. During the 8-minute ride, a window projection will mimic the journey and feature familiar Harry Potter characters.

The Hogwarts Express is suitable for all ages and has no height requirement. You can also take wheelchairs and strollers on this ride.
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
๐ Height Requirement: None
โฐ Average Wait Time: 13 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish is a fun, family-friendly spinning ride that takes you on a colourful adventure through the world of Dr. Seuss. Youโll board a fish-shaped vehicle that gently spins as it rises and falls in time with the rideโs movements.

Each vehicle seats up to two people and has a lap bar for safety. The rideโs movements are mild, making it suitable for younger children. You can even control how high your fish flies by using a handle in front of you.
While this ride has no height requirement your child will need to be able to sit up independently.
Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges
๐ Height Requirement: 42โ (107 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 15 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges is a water ride in which you will get wet.
This ride sees you board a circular raft with up to 12 people as you float through the rapids of the river. Along the way, you’ll encounter plenty of water jets, waterfalls, and geysers that will make sure you get wet.

The ride’s movements are smooth and gentle, though the water splashes can be intense. The ride does not have sudden drops or intense thrills but can get pretty wet.
Pteranodon Flyers
๐ Height Requirement: Minimum 36โ (92 cm) Maximum 56โ (143 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 32 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
Pteranodon Flyers is a gentle flying ride that offers a bird’s-eye view of the Jurassic Park area. This family-friendly attraction lets you soar through the air in a glider, simulating the flight of a Pteranodon.

Each Pteranodon seats one child (36โณโ56โณ) and one accompanying guest. Adults cannot ride unless they are with a child. The ride has a lap bar for safety, and the glider gently sways as it moves along the track.
This is a great ride for kids, but the strict height restrictions mean that adults cannot ride alone. Due to the ride’s limited capacity, wait times can be long, even on quiet days.
Skull Island: Reign Of Kong
๐ Height Requirement: 36″ (92 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 40 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
Skull Island: Reign of Kong is a trackless dark ride that takes you into the world of King Kong. You’ll board an expedition truck and travel through the jungle. Along the way, you’ll face giant creatures, hostile natives, and an intense encounter with Kong himself.

Each truck seats up to 72 guests in 12 rows of six, with a shared lap bar for safety. The ride uses screens, animatronics, and practical sets to create a realistic experience.
While the truck moves, most of the action comes from visual effects and seat vibrations rather than physical motion. The ride is dark, loud, and has sudden movements, which may scare younger children.
Storm Force Accelatron
๐ Height Requirement: None
โฐ Average Wait Time: 6 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
Storm Force Accelatron is one of the most dated rides at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Situated inside Marvel Super Hero Island, this ride offers a superhero twist on the classic teacup ride.
Each vehicle seats up to five people and has a central wheel that lets you control how fast you spin. The more you turn the wheel, the faster your vehicle rotates.
This ride has no height requirement, making it great for families. However, the intense spinning can cause motion sickness, so it’s best avoided if you’re prone to dizziness.
The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
๐ Height Requirement: 40โ (102 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 32 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man is a 3D motion simulator that takes you through New York with Spider-Man.
This ride is similar to Transformers: The Ride 3D at Universal Studios Florida, but with a different concept. You’ll team up with Spider-Man to stop the Sinister Syndicate, who have stolen the Statue of Liberty.

The ride vehicle seats four guests per row and moves along a track, tilting, spinning, and shaking to match the action on the screens. However, the vehicle never leaves the ground.
3D visuals and special effects like fire, water, and wind make the experience feel real. However, the intense motion and effects means this ride can make some guests feel sick.
The Cat In The Hat
๐ Height Requirement: 36″ (92 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 9 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
The Cat in the Hat is a gentle, family-friendly ride that takes you on a whimsical journey through the world of Dr. Seuss.
This ride sees you board a colourful ride vehicle and travel through the chaos caused by the mischievous Cat and his friends, Thing 1 and Thing 2. Each vehicle seats three people per row, with two rows in total.
The ride moves slowly with gentle turns, spins, and drops, making it suitable for all ages. Meanwhile, the colourful scenes, animatronics, and music create a fun and immersive experience.
The High In The Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride!
๐ Height Requirement: 36″ (92 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 22 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: No
The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride! is a family-friendly attraction that offers a birdโs-eye view of Seuss Landing. This gentle ride takes you above the colourful world of Dr. Seuss, where youโll fly through the air in a whimsical trolley car.

Each vehicle seats up to four people, with two rows of two seats each. The ride moves slowly and is mostly smooth, with a few gentle turns and small drops, making it ideal for younger children and families.

The Incredible Hulk Coaster
๐ Height Requirement: 54″ (138 cm)
โฐ Average Wait Time: 35 minutes
๐งSingle Rider: Yes
The Incredible Hulk Coaster is a high-speed roller coaster that starts with a launch, taking you from 0 to 40 mph in just 2 seconds. From there, you’ll experience loops, corkscrews, and sharp turns.

Each ride vehicle seats four people in a row and has an over-the-shoulder harness for safety. The ride’s speed, drops, and inversions are ideal for thrill-seekers.

While the ride has been known to cause ‘head bashing,’ recent revisions have improved it. Push your head back as far into the seat as possible during the ride to minimise discomfort.
Frequently Asked Questions
Below are the questions I get most often about the full ride lineup at Universal Orlando in 2026.
How many rides are there at Universal Orlando Resort?
Universal Orlando has more than 40 rides spread across four parks. Universal Studios Florida has 13 rides, Islands of Adventure has 18, Epic Universe has 11, and Volcano Bay has 19 slides and water attractions. The exact count shifts as rides open or close, so I treat 40+ as the working figure for 2026.
What is the tallest roller coaster at Universal Orlando?
Stardust Racers at Epic Universe is the tallest, with a 133-foot lift and dual launches reaching 62 mph. Before Epic Universe opened in May 2025, the Hulk Coaster at Islands of Adventure held that title at 110 feet. Hulk is still the tallest coaster at the original two parks.
Which rides at Universal Orlando have no height requirement?
Plenty of family rides skip the height minimum, including E.T. Adventure (which has a 34-inch rule), Cat in the Hat, Caro-Seuss-el, Villain-Con Minion Blast, Constellation Carousel, and Fyre Drill. Children under 48 inches still need a supervising companion on most of these. I find it easiest to check Universal’s official height chart before committing to a touring plan.
Is Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit still open at Universal Studios Florida?
No, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit closed on 18 August 2025 and was demolished by late October 2025. Universal announced a replacement coaster called Fast and Furious Hollywood Drift, scheduled to open in 2027. The site is currently a construction zone behind temporary walls.
Do you need a park-to-park ticket to ride everything at Universal Orlando?
You only need a park-to-park ticket if you want to ride the Hogwarts Express, which connects Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, or if you want to visit more than one park on the same day. A single-park ticket lets you ride everything inside that one park. Epic Universe is included with most multi-day park-to-park tickets for 2026.
