How To Get From Disneyland To Knott’s Berry Farm

Disneyland is the second most visited theme park in the world (second to only Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World) and while this was the first theme park created by The Walt Disney Company, it’s not the oldest in the region. Instead, that title goes to Knott’s Berry Farm which was founded back in 1923.

Given the close proximity of these two southern California theme parks, many people choose to visit both during a trip to the region.

If you have your own car (or hire car) then the best and easiest way to get from Disneyland to Knott’s Berry Farm is to drive. The journey takes around 15 minutes depending on the traffic. Otherwise, we’d recommend one of the rideshare platforms (Uber or Lyft) which will cost between $11.50 and $18.

However, the most budget-friendly option for getting from Disneyland to Knott’s Berry Farm is taking the LACMTA 460 bus. This bus costs just $1.75 and takes about 40 minutes.

Drive

One of the easiest ways to get from Disneyland to Knott’s Berry Farm is by driving.

Knott’s Berry Farm is located 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Disneyland and is therefore just a short drive up the I-5 interstate, taking about 15 minutes depending on traffic.

While the cost of driving between these two locations is incredibly cheap, given the close proximity. The cost of parking is not.

The most affordable parking option at Disneyland is $30 a day, while at Knott’s Berry Farm is $25.

This therefore may make taking an Uber or Lyft more affordable in some situations.

Rideshare

If you don’t have your own car, using a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft is the best way to get from Disneyland to Knott’s Berry Farm.

This is another fast and efficient option that takes about 15 minutes.

You can call an Uber or Lyft from Disneyland, and expect to wait no more than a few minutes to be picked up. The cost of an Uber or Lyft can be anywhere from $12 to 20.

Most Uber’s and Lyft’s can fit up to four passengers, although you can book an UberXL or LyftXL for up to six passengers if you need more space.

This is the most affordable option for getting from Disneyland to Knott’s Berry Farm since you can be dropped off directly at the entrance and you don’t have to pay for parking.

Taxi

Another way to get from Disneyland to Knott’s Berry Farm is by taxi. There’s a taxi stand at Disneyland located on the west side of the Downtown Disney District where you can easily catch a taxi to go to Knott’s Berry Farm.

You can also call a taxi service and book a ride in advance.

Taking a taxi from Disneyland to Knott’s Berry Farm costs around $24 to $30 and takes about 15 minutes.

Since taking an Uber or Lyft is usually cheaper, taking a taxi from Disneyland to Knott’s Berry Farm is not recommended.

However, since rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft operate on a dynamic pricing model that can fluctuate depending on the time of day and demand, it may be cheaper in certain circumstances to take a taxi instead.

Bus

A budget-friendly option for getting from Disneyland to Knott’s Berry Farm is taking public transportation.

There are two different bus routes you can take from Disneyland to Knott’s Berry Farm.

The first is taking the LACMTA 460 bus towards Downtown LA – 6th – Los Angeles from the Disneyland Employee’s Entrance bus stop outside the park.

The 460 bus runs seven days a week from early morning until around 10 PM and comes every 20 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends.

This bus takes about 40 minutes and drops you off at the entrance to Knott’s Berry Farm. The fare is $1.75. 

The second bus option involves one transfer. You will take the Orange County bus 543 towards Fullerton Transportation Center from the Harbor-East Shuttle Area outside Disneyland.

Then transfer to the Orange Country bus 38 towards Lakewood – Del Amo and Pioneer at Harbor-La Palma. You’ll get off at the La Palma-Beach stop, which is just a couple minutes from Knott’s Berry Farm.

These buses run seven days a week from early morning until around 6pm, and come every 30 minutes to an hour.

If you take this route, it will cost $4 and take around 55 minutes.

Taking the LACMTA bus is cheaper and more direct, making it the best option. It also has more departures and runs later.

Hotel Shuttle

The final option for getting from Disneyland to Knott’s Berry Farm is by hotel shuttle.

Disneyland has three on-site hotels, however, none of them has a shuttle to Knott’s Berry Farm. However, Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel does have a shuttle to Disneyland.

Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel is located just outside the entrance of Knott’s Berry Farm, and guests staying at this hotel will have access to a complimentary Disneyland shuttle so they can get to and from the theme park.
