How Long Is Disneyland Decorated For Halloween?

Every year, the Disneyland park transforms for Halloween.

With pumpkins, ghouls and ghosts decorations alongside seasonal music, special fireworks displays, and treat stations throughout the park, this is an experience Disney fans do not want to miss out on.

Disneyland typically decorates for Halloween between September 6th and 9th and the Halloween decor remains until midnight on October 31st at which point the park transforms overnight ready for the holidays.

As such visitors looking to experience all that Disneyland offers during Halloween should plan to visit between mid-September and the end of October.

How Long Do Disneyland Halloween Decorations Stay Up?

Halloween decor at Disneyland remains in place until midnight on October 31st.

Then, as the park closes cast members from the Holiday Transformation Team and the Winter Enchantment Workshop work together to transform the park overnight ready for the holidays.

A couple of days before Halloween you may begin to see some Christmas decor around the resort, and a couple of days after Halloween you may still see some Halloween decor around the resort.

However, if you want to see Disneyland in all it’s Halloween glory, you’re going to want to go between September 6th and October 31st.

When Does Disneyland Change From Halloween To Christmas?

The transformation from Halloween to Christmas at Disneyland begins after the park has closed on the 31st of October.

It then takes between one to two weeks for the decorations around the resort to be installed with the official kick-off of Disneyland’s holiday celebrations typically taking place between November 10th – November 15th.

Disneyland’s Christmas decor includes a 60-foot Christmas tree with 70,000 lights and 2,000 custom-made ornaments on Main Street U.S.A and a 50-foot Christmas tree on Buena Vista Street at Disney’s California Adventure.

The Disneyland Resort then typically remains in holiday decor until January 6th, the Three King’s Day marking the last of the “12 Days of Christmas”.

It then takes Disneyland another week or so to take down all of the holiday decor around the resort. As such if you’re visiting Disneyland between the 7th and 13th of January you may still see some of the Christmas decor.

Plaza de la Familia (Returning For 2023)

For 2023, Disneyland announced the return of the Coco-themed Plaza de la Familia at Paradise Gardens in Disney California Adventure Park.

The exact dates of this event have yet to be announced for 2023. However, in 2022 the event ran from September 2nd to November 2nd, so I imagine it will be very similar again this year.
