How Much Is Character Dining At Disneyland (2023)

Waiting to meet characters inside the Disneyland parks can take a number of hours.

Thankfully, character dining takes the hassle and time away from this and allows you to meet a variety of characters while dining on an extensive range of different foods.

However, as with most things at Disneyland, this experience comes at a price.

Currently, the cost of character dining varies depending on the location, meal and person (adult or child). Children under the age of 3 eat free at all of the buffets when dining with an adult.

Plaza Inn

The Plaza Inn is located on Main Street, USA, in the Disneyland Park, and enjoys spectacular views of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. 

Due to the regular rotation of Disney characters and the restaurant’s location, The Plaza Inn is one of the most popular character dining destinations at the Disneyland Resort.

The Plaza Inn has been serving guests since Disneyland’s opening day in 1955, and Walt Disney dined here on many occasions!

You can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this charming Victorian-style property, but remember that character dining is only available at breakfast.

The breakfast character event, “Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park, is a spectacular way to spend your morning and certainly worth getting up early for!

Due to the popularity of this Disneyland character dining experience, advanced booking is highly recommended. 

The regular character rotation at The Plaza means you can look forward to being greeted by some surprised faces.

That said, you can expect to get the chance to say hi to Minnie Mouse; this is her breakfast celebration after all! Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Pluto, Tigger, Winnie the Pooh, and Chip and Dale too!

Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast and Brunch Buffet at Storytellers Café is a slightly more refined dining option where you can enjoy both breakfast and brunch with your favourite characters.

Breakfast is an extensive American-style buffet, while brunch includes table service with certain foods available to order from your server.

Breakfast food includes:

• Scrambled Eggs
• Eggs Benedict
• Various kinds of cereal
• Muffins
• Fresh Fruit
• Charcuterie Platter
• Smoked Salmon Bagels
• Croissants

When Brunch time arrives, even more, delicious cuisine becomes available, including:

• Various types of meat from the meat carving station

Be sure to make a dining reservation for your breakfast, which you can book for any day of the week. When you are booking brunch, keep in mind that it’s only available from Friday to Sunday.

Dinner at the Storytellers Cafe does not feature characters. Reservations for the character dining experience can be made quickly and easily 60 days in advance via the Disney website or the Disneyland app. 

The Storyteller Cafe is located inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. It is worth noting that If you are not staying on the property and are instead driving there, you are entitled to three hours of complimentary parking. 

You can expect to meet various characters here, including Minnie Mouse, Pluto, and Chip ‘n Dale.

One thing is for sure; One important guy will be there, hosting his Tales of Adventure, and that is the legend himself, Mickey Mouse! 

Goofy’s Kitchen

Another restaurant that is excellent for character interactions is Goofy’s Kitchen. Goofy and a few of his best buddies will be there, dressed in their chef whites, waiting to meet and greet you and your family.

The characters will stop at your table for photo opportunities,  autographs, and high-fives while you are enjoying your delicious meal. 

Goofy’s Kitchen serves breakfast and dinner daily, and booking a reservation is advised. You can do this quickly and easily on the Disneyland app or the website 60 days in advance.

It is also worth remembering that at Goofy’s Kitchen you can enjoy a late breakfast, which some may class as brunch, as it continues until 1:30 pm. 

The Breakfast menu includes the following :

• Create-your-own yoghurt granola parfait
• Avocado Toast

The restaurant is located in the Disneyland Hotel. If you are driving there, you are entitled to three hours of free parking. Be careful not to overstay the allotted parking time or you may receive a fine. 

Goofy’s Kitchen is the only restaurant that offers character dining at dinnertime, and the menu is mouth-watering, although a little quirky!

Booking a dining reservation at the Napa Rose Restaurant to enjoy the Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures is a great way to celebrate a special occasion.

A selection of your favourite Disney Princesses will be waiting to greet you as you arrive. You are invited to a unique photo opportunity with them before you are seated in the fancy dining room for your unforgettable breakfast experience.

As you enjoy your meal, the princesses will invite you to join them for some great activities. Mulan may whisk the little ones off to take photos with swords and shields, while Pochaontas may invite them to enjoy storytime. 

The three-course menu at the Napa Rose Restaurant features fine breakfast cuisine, some brunch favourites, and some rather special desserts. 

The starters are served in the style of afternoon tea and include :
