Can You Wear Sandals To Universal Studios Orlando?

If you’re visiting Universal Studios, it should be no surprise that you’ll be spending a lot of time on your feet. Considering this, it’s vital to choose practical footwear.

Sandals are a great choice for Universal Studios Orlando and are permitted throughout the resort including all of the theme parks (Universal Studios Florida & Islands of Adventure) as well as at the resort’s waterpark, Volcano Bay.

However, while sandals are allowed, it’s up to you whether will be the best choice for your trip.

Are Sandals Allowed At Universal Studios Orlando?

Sandals in all styles, including flip flops, slides, and sports sandals, are allowed at all Universal Studios properties, including CityWalk, Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay.

However, certain rides may require removing loose footwear (such as certain types of sandals) to prevent it from falling off and potentially injuring other guests.

Are Sandals Good For Universal Studios Orlando?

Many parkgoers wear sandals to the Universal Orlando Resort since they personally find them comfortable to wear over long distances.

When deciding whether sandals are the right choice of footwear for your trip to the Universal Orlando Resort you’ll want to consider the distances you’ll be walking as well as what rides you plan to go on.

If you’re comfortable walking a few miles in a variety of weather conditions in your favourite sandals, then they are likely to be a great choice for Universal.

However, in certain circumstances, you may find that select materials and sandal designs cause blistering when worn either for long durations, over long distances or in select weather conditions.

Can You Wear Sandals On Rides At Universal Studios Orlando?

Sandals are permitted on all rides at both theme parks at the Universal Orlando Resort.

However, depending on the design of your sandals, on selected rides, you may be asked to remove your footwear to avoid them coming off and injuring other guests within the park.

Should this be the case you may be able to store your shoes with an attendant and retrieve them after the ride. Alternatively, some guests sit on their sandals during the coaster to keep them more secure.

The Islands of Adventure theme park features three water rides where you’ll likely get wet: Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges, Jurassic Park River Adventure, and Dudley-Do Right’s Rip Saw Falls.

All three rides require you to keep your shoes on, so sandals may be a good option if you want to avoid walking around in wet socks.

Can You Wear Sandals To Volcano Bay?

Sandals are a great option for Volcano Bay.

Guests can go barefoot throughout most areas of the park, but sidewalks can heat up and become painful for bare feet. To protect your feet, sandals, Crocs, or water shoes are a good idea.

Shoes are not permitted on water slides at Volcano Bay, so wearing shoes that you can slip on or off is extremely beneficial.
