Visiting Universal Studios is a magical experience in itself. From the thrilling rides to the enchanting atmosphere, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

However, for fans of the Harry Potter franchise, the experience becomes even more special with the ability to dress up as your favourite character from the show, or as a Wizard attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

That’s because Harry Potter Robes are permitted to be worn at Universal Studios. This includes the entire resort (theme parks, hotels and CityWalk) and not just The Wizarding World of Harry Potter area.

You can wear a Harry Potter robe that’s been purchased at Universal Studios or brought from home (provided that it meets Universal’s dress code policy).

Do Adults Wear Harry Potter Robes At Universal Studios? 

If you’re an adult fan of Harry Potter, then please don’t feel embarrassed or worried about wearing a Harry Potter robe or dressing up.

Many adults, will wear Harry Potter robes across the Universal Studios theme park, including within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

As such nobody is going to look at you funny or make any comments, in fact, if you do get comments, they’ll no doubt be compliments on how awesome you look!

Can You Buy Robes At Universal Studios?

Official Harry Potter robes can be purchased from various locations across the Universal Studios theme parks.

This includes both within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, elsewhere within the theme park and at CityWalk.

Can You Bring Robes From Home To Wear At Universal Studios?

If you already own a Harry Potter robe then you can bring and wear it when visiting Universal Studios provided that it meets the park’s dress code policy.

Can You Wear Robes On Rides At Universal Studios?

Given the length and restriction that Harry Potter robes have it is not recommended and often not permitted to wear a robe when going on rides within the park.

Instead, robes should be removed and either left with a non-rider or stored in a locker.

Lockers are available at the entrance to the vast majority of rides within the park and can be used for free (for the duration of the current standby wait time and ride duration) when loose items are required to be stored.

Can You Wear Harry Potter Robes At Halloween Horror Nights?

For the safety and security of all guests, you are not permitted to wear Harry Potter robes and other costumes when attending Halloween Horror Nights.
